The previous lesson I introduced the negative form of “A=B” expression.
This time I would like to introduce the negative form in the case B is an adjective.

The last word of Japanese adjective word is “I(い)”
For example
Utsukushii (うつくしい) : beautiful
Amai （あまい) :sweet
Karai (からい) : hot

We just exchange this “I(い)” to “Ku(く)” and add “Nai(ない）” to make negative form of an adjective.

Let’s get started.

“A Wa B Ku Nai (AはBくない。)”

The negative form of the aboves are,
Utsukushiku Nai (うつくしくない) : not beautiful
Amaku Nai （あまくない) : not sweet
Karaku Nai (からくない) : not hot

Kono Hana Wa Utsukushiku Nai Desu
(このはなはうつくしくないです。)
This flower is not beautiful.

Kono Ame Wa Amaku Nai Desu
(このあめはあまくないです。)
This candy is not sweet.

Kono Ryouri Wa Karaku Nai Desu
(このりょうりはからくないです。)
This dish is not hot.

It is easy.
I list up some negative form of Japanese adjectives.

Akaku Nai  あかくない : not red
Aoku Nai あおくない : not bule
Kiiroku Nai きいろくない : not yellow
Kuroku Nai くろくない : not black
Shiroku Nai しろくない: not white

Size & Grade

Chiisaku Nai ちいさくない : not small
Ookiku Nai おおきくない : not big
Hiroku Nai ひろくない : not large/not wide
Semaku Nai せまくない : not small/not narrow
Takaku Nai たかくない : not high/not expensive
Hikuku Nai ひくくない : not low
Yasuku Nai やすくない : not cheap
