Today I introduce Japanese Gourmet named “とんかつ（Tonkatsu）”.
“とんかつ（Tonkatsu）” is one of my favorite food.
And my private English teacher at my junior high school loved “とんかつ（Tonkatsu)” very much.
She was an American Embassy officer.
She loved “とんかつ（Tonkatsu）”
and talked how delicious the tonkatsu was at the beginning of each class.
Her class sounds like Tonkatsu lecture.
“とんかつ（Tonkatsu）” is a deep fried pork.
Usually it is served with shredded cabbage, pork miso soup and rice.
Shredded cabbage and rice are free to re-order.
かつや（Katsuya）
“かつや（Katsuya）” is now one of popular Tonkatsu shop.
They are famous for serving large dishes.

It is served with rice and pork miso soup.

“とんかつ工房（Tonkatsu Koubou）” is small group restaurant.
They have 2brands.
One is “とんかつ工房（Tonkatsu Koubou） and another is “とんかつ工房＋（Tonkatsu Koubou plus）”
This time I went to “とんかつ工房＋（Tonkatsu Koubou plus）” near Yoyogi Park.
The picture is “ロースかつ定食（Set meal with pork loin cutlets）”
It is served with rice and しじみの味噌汁 (miso soup with freshwater clam).

とんかつ すずや （Tonkatsu Suzuya）
とんかつ すずや（Tonkatsu Suzuya） is a well-established Tonkatsu resutaurant with a history of more than 50 years.
It is on the left side of the Kabukicho entrance from Shinjuku station.
You can enjoy ordinary Tonkatsu.
But there is a rare Tonkatsu Ochazuke here.

Tonkatsu Ochazuke is rice with Tonkatsu and green tea.
It is very rare.
