Tokyo Park / Shinjyuku Gyoen / 新宿御苑

Japanese Attraction

It is an image of a humble city when you come to Shinjuku, but the very luxurious space of Shinjuku Gyoen is expanding.
When you come to Shinjuku, why not buy a delicious lunch at a department store and go to Shinjyuku Gyoen so you can enjoy yourself away from the humble city?
I’m sorry, but you can not bring in alcohol.

Shinjuku Gyoen Information Center / 新宿御苑インフォメーションセンター

There is an information center in front of the Shinjuku gate of Shinjuku Gyoen.

In the information center, you can get walk information and information on nature in the park, as well as travel information and brochures in Japan.
If you come to Shinjuku Gyoen, you may be able to obtain more informative information for the travel in Japan.

You can also eat snacks in the information center.

Japanese garden

Inside Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, there are several characteristic gardens such as a Japanese garden, a landscape garden, and a well-formed garden.
First of all, it is a popular Japanese garden for foreigners.
In the Japanese garden, there are plants and trees that surround the pond, such as plums and cherry blossoms.

In the Japanese garden there is a tea room called Raku – tei and Sho Ten – tei.
You can borrow a full-fledged teahouse, but you can also enjoy simple tea sweets.

On the pond of the Japanese garden is the old Goryoutei that was donated by a Japanese citizen living in Taiwan to the marriage of Emperor Showa.
The Chinese style architecture has a unique atmosphere in the Japanese garden.

The Japanese garden is also beautiful looking from old Goryoutei.

Well-formed garden (Rose garden)

The well-formed garden is a rose garden.
The wooden trees that are beautifully shaped on the left and right symmetry are different from the Japanese garden.

You can enjoy various kinds of roses in the rose season.

Landscape garden

The landscaped garden, located in the center of Shinjuku Gyoen, has a large lawn.
You can see the high-rises of Shinjuku and so on over the spacious space and enjoy the contrast.

Greenhouse

There is a greenhouse near the Shinjuku gate and Okido Gate of Shinjuku Gyoen.

Be careful as the greenhouse closes early!

The glass building is modern and the southern world spreads there.

Even in the cold winter months, the greenhouse is a different world.
A variety of tropical plants can be enjoyed by the devised route.

Access

There are three entrances: Shinjuku Gate, Sendagaya Gate and Okido Gate.

Shinjuku Gyoen is a large park, so if you want to enjoy the Japanese garden, you want to look at a rose garden, or if there is a destination, you can easily access the destination by selecting the entrance gate.

Shinjyuku Gate / 新宿門

Shinjuku Gate is about 10 minutes on foot from Shinjuku Station South Exit.

It is an easy 5-minute walk from Shinjuku Gyoen Station on the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line, Shinjuku Sanchome Station on the Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line, and the Toei Subway Shinjuku Line.

There is an information center before admission to Shinjuku Gate. Information such as information on Shinjuku Gyoen, tourist information, etc. is placed, so it is useful to obtain information such as those from overseas.

There is also a space where you can take a break or a meal in the information center.

It is convenient if you want to go to the Japanese garden as it is relatively close to the Japanese garden.

Sendagaya Gate / 千駄ヶ谷門

Sendagaya Gate is a 5-minute walk from Sendagaya Station on the JR Sobu Line.

It is a 5-minute walk from National Stadium Station of Toei Subway Oedo Line.

Sendagaya Gate is an entrance near a Japanese garden.

The Rose garden is relatively close from Sendagaya Gate and Okido Gate. I think it would be better to enter from the Sendagaya Gate or Okido Gate if Rose Garden is the destination.

Okido Gate / 大木戸門

Okido Gate is a 5-minute walk from Shinjuku Gyoen Station on the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line.

There is also a parking lot at Okido Gate.

Okido Gate is an entrance close to the former Western-style palace and a greenhouse.

It is convenient because it is relatively close to Rose Garden.
